You Can Start Again

You really can, it’s your choice. Whatever decisions you’ve made for yourself, you have the ability to change your mind.

It is tempting to stay where you are based on how you felt in the past. Often, we stay long past our time because in the beginning it felt so good. Then over time things may not feel as good as you remembered, but we began it so we “darn well better finish it.” Much like a gambler who, experiencing beginner’s luck cannot tear themselves away from the table when they’re losing because of that first winning feeling.

I had a friend I’d known for 20 years, and I slowly realized that she had begun to criticize me whenever we were together. We used to support each other, but over the years we grew in very different directions. I tried to talk to her about it, but she didn’t change her behavior. It was painful to let the friendship go, but it was worth the relief I felt at not having to protect myself from her.

It is hard to give yourself permission to change your opinion about something, even when that something isn’t working anymore. We believe we have the obligation to “hang in there” and try. We know with our deeper mind what is worth working on and what is not, but we give all sorts of rationalizations to avoid the pain of starting over. It is frightening to think that it might look to others that we were wrong, and daunting to face their judgment.

When our intuition tells us that something is not working, we need to swallow our pride and admit it to ourselves. Making a new choice does not negate the time we’ve put into something; it’s what got us there. Hanging out where you are not getting what you need or want is hurting no one but you. Whoever you are trying to protect from being hurt by your change of heart, ultimately is going to benefit by your courage to change.

If you have made such a change recently you know how liberating it is. If you’re contemplating one, I encourage you to give yourself permission to move forward towards where your life wants you to go.

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom…"
~Anais Nin

"I am a singer-songwriter and I was preparing for the release of my first album. I had put a lot of work into the project and I was Feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Old patterns and false beliefs about myself were causing unnecessary challenges for me. I was terrified of presenting myself on a larger scale as an artist, scared of what people would say, and feeling disconnected from my initial impetus for creating in the first place.

I thought of Virginia and I made an appointment. I wasn't exactly sure what my intention was, other than to find my courage and strength, because I knew my fears were getting the better or me and preventing me from being effective and productive.

My session with Virginia was intensely powerful, revealing, and so easy. When I lay back in her big comfy chair and heard her voice, I knew right away I was in good hands. I connected directly to my deepest knowledge of what I needed and what was blocking me. With Virginia's help, I have been able to reconnect with my truth beyond fear, beyond measure or ego. This has been immensely freeing, supportive, and most of all validating.

I have never encountered a healing modality that does this so efficiently and truthfully. Virginia is a conduit for transformation and deep personal healing.

After this amazing session, I was inspired by my inner journey and thru journaling about it, a really terrific song emerged -- an added bonus!"

Virginia Feingold Clark, MFA, CHT

As a hypnotherapist I help my clients become aware of their inner voice. No matter what problem or difficulty they are struggling with, at the root of it is the way that person sees or feels themselves from the inside.

The benefits of hypnotherapy are far reaching and can have a great impact on your life. The subconscious mind creates the “subtext,” the emotion behind your thoughts, and it literally creates your life script.

The clients who come to me are aware that their inner thoughts create their outward behavior, and they deeply desire to change. When they are introduced to their inner guidance through hypnotherapy, they begin to realize their true gifts and talents.

The more you know who you truly are, the better the choices you will make in your life.

No one knows the truth of your life better than you do!
